We have two very sweet and over the top cute new additions to the family.
Sophie picked out the name Lupine weeks ago when we told her she could have a rabbit in the new house..... and Jade named the white one Sorrel. The girls in true kid fashion have spent the last week researching all things rabbit. They can tell what they should eat, shouldn't eat, proper bedding, the importance of toenail clipping, potty training, rabbit behavior and so on......
We've never had rabbits as pets.... and while I mostly see them as little poop-makers-for-my-garden next spring, the girls are truly smitten. They are such quiet, sweet little creatures.
Any other bunny lovers out there?
ps ~ i'm donating all shop profits through friday to victims of the tornadoes in oklahoma.....
Thank you Darlene! That is a ton of great info. We did read up on food and you are right about their tummies. We give them hay twice a day. And they get a pellet blend too. Mostly hay though. Tiny bits of very dark leafy greens (minus the cabbage family) for treats. A strawberry top here and there. Clover. Dandelion greens. Just a little though! I do hope to move them outdoors where they can have more room and some hay to burrow in. I think they would enjoy it more out there honestly! We'll see......

I think as long as they get interaction with calm humans..... they actually are very sweet social creatures! We've had a lot of fun with them :)

right now we've got them inside. but once my husband gets here we'll be discussing other solutions. i really like the idea of them living out of doors.... fresh air, and all. i'll be sure to keep you posted :)

we read up on it and so far it seems that so long as we get them neutered.... which we totally are.... they should do fine together. especially since they started out together. they can get fixed at four months, so about 8-10 weeks from now. luckily the climate here is fairly mild.... so we might have them live outside later on. we'll see though....

Stephinie,
Here's a link to my friend who created an outdoor sanctuary for over 100 rabbits. She no longer has that many, but if anyone knows anything about rabbits, she does!
