Well, I suppose it's only natural that I should finally come down with the same crud my kids have had. I mean, as the mama you usually expose yourself to a number of germs taking care of your sick ones. It's just how it goes. And while I nearly always manage to drink enough tea and emergenc to keep myself well..... this time I lost.
I spent the last two days with the worst headache ever, my body aching and creaking like an ancient old woman. After four days of having a fever (101.7!) I finally went to the doctor. They swabbed me for strep, the flu, and drew blood (I think they like to do that). And the answer. Nothing. Just a virus. Rest, fluids, rest, more fluids. You know the drill.
And so, after two days of the rest + fluids regimen, I feel mostly like a human again.
And while I haven't touched the camera all week.... I do have this for you. Some fairy building goodness from Chicot. My little two (aka the ones who caught this awful bug to begin with) had a wonderful afternoon in the sun building. Moss, bark, bits of dried plants, and the biggest acorns any of us have ever seen. I love watching them do this sort of thing. As a kid I used to build rock houses along the river where we lived. I always assumed a mouse would live there.....
Did you build little houses too?

Anyhow... I'm going to get back to this resting and tea sipping business.
See you soon....
xo,
stephinie
I hope you feel 100% soon!!!

It would seem to me the you all live in a climate much like ours hot all year! Only the thing is you can go outside and play under the trees. While every plant here has thorns on it! I hope much better! It's so hard to be a sick mama because you don't get to call in sick!

I hope you feel better soon!! Eric And I have been battling a flu that started with Zack. Even though he is 22. He always seems to bring a good bug into the house to spread around. Just when I need to be on top of my game I'm shivering under the covers. I made two soups yesterday and I've slowly managed to finish holiday decorating. All with the help of day-quill..
So.... Any word yet on where your going to be moving to.. I may not go online much these days but I am always checking in on you. We LOVE and miss you all. Call us when you find out..

Hello, I wonder if you know what kind of Oak variety those huge acorns come from? And without being too personal I am wondering what state you reside in? I find these simply amazing and would love to have some for our very own fairy houses. Thank you, Angi

I hope your feeling better, hopefully you got plenty of rest. That acorn is beautiful. We don't get ones like that here in the Northwest. Finally, congratulations on being featured on Typepad!

I am not sure what variety the oak tree is. Of all the acorns on our walks, only two trees had these giant acorns. My kids were in love them & plan to make a few acorn boats next!

I had no idea I'd been featured! Thank you for letting me know :) As far as acorns..... we only get the tiniest ones on our three oaks in our yard. I would LOVE if they were bigger. The ones up in Chicot were Colossal!
