she came into this world with big dark eyes

calm & quiet

not a peep or cry from her lips

it scared us all

but she was perfectly fine

just marching to the beat of her own drum

which she has done ever since

this girl, our first daughter

such independence

and a generous heart

from the very beginning

and those curls

how I loved those wispy curls

fourteen years later

she's just as amazing

i'm still looking at her with my eyes wide open

in awe, in love
