Wow, what a week!
I'm ready for a three day weekend.
Some time to finish clean-up, but mostly to relax and fill our bodies with nourishing food and lots of rest.
And maybe just a little sewing for me.
I have a few links to share for your exploring....
Green smoothies. I think I've shared them before, but that's okay. They're that good.
I pre-ordered this book months ago, and it just shipped. Their blog is lovely too.
I really want to make a tova. This is why.
A handmade kingfisher. So beautiful.
Looking forward to the next issue of this, Retreat.
Loving this.
Just for fun, a year ago this week. (it's a recipe!)
Wishing you all a very lovely weekend.

ps ~ thank you for all the kind words yesterday. you all are such a sweet & caring bunch!
Okay, so I'm wondering how well the kale blends for you... My blender is okay, but not super fantastic, and it has kind of discouraged me from trying out the green smoothie recipes that I see. Do you get little kale bits? I love kale, but I don't think I want to drink it in chunky little bits...

My blender is a $40 refurbished cuisinart that I bought over ten years ago. Nothing fancy. (It's like the duo/duet one on the market these days) The key for me has been to make sure the kale is ripped into pieces about 2-3" in size and then blend for 1-2 minutes with the water and almond milk. I do end up with flecks of kale, but not chunks. And as the photo shows, the kids LOVE this recipe. Good luck :)

I think I might have the same blender! I'll give it a go and let you know what happens. I'll have to substitute for the almond milk since we are a nut free house... maybe coconut milk? Hmn...
